Willing to try Six to Eight before it arrives on the iTunes App Store? Great! There's nothing a programmer likes more than to see people run his code. I'm really very flattered.

Just so you know, there're a few requirements before I can hook you up with a pre-release copy. You must...

  1. Be running an iOS 4.0.1 device (that's all non-first generation iPhones and iPod touches who have performed the most recent software update).
  2. Be willing to share your device UDID with me. This is not a huge secret, and does not give me any special rights on your device. It only lets me create a code signing profile for "ad-hoc" distribution of Six to Eight.
  3. Have installed the "Ad-Hoc Helper" app, which is a free download from the iTunes App Store. This tool lets you easily send your UDID to me.

If you're happy with all that, then fire up Ad-Hoc Helper and send the resulting e-mail and your name to me at adamw@archgrove.co.uk. Within a day or two, I'll package up a release binary and send you download and installation instructions.

Alas, I can only provide about 10 more copies of the pre-release version due to limitations of the App Store ad-hoc distribution method. I'm really sorry about this. If you e-mail me too late, I'll be sure to contact you when the official App Store release happens. This will hopefully be very soon, as the software is already with Apple for testing.

There's no obligation to report bugs or to provide feedback - I'm just happy you're trying it out. However, it'd still be great to hear about problems you've had or ideas you've got. Please feel free to e-mail me at adamw@archgrove.co.uk with any comments.
